FunctionResponsible for profiling customers to determine financial services needs and referring customers to other Line of Business partners when appropriate. Opens loan and deposit accounts. Responsible for achieving individual goals including loan and deposit production and other sales goals as assigned by Branch management.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prove competencies in bank operations by completion of the Sales Platform training as assigned by Consumer Bank Training.
- Demonstrate product knowledge, sales aptitude, and service expectations in a successful manner.
- Execute the expectations outlined in the Branch Playbook.
- Become CARE certified within 6 months of hire.
- Profile customers to determine and recommend appropriate S&T loan and deposit products.
- Utilize all sales tools as provided to enhance the customer experience and sales conversation. Example tools but not limited to Loan Fit, sales binder, etc.
- Complete the S&T Sales process and conduct customer‑focused conversations, documenting notes in the appropriate system for future reference by all bankers.
- Input loan applications using appropriate LOS software and coordinate loan document preparation.
- Open new deposit accounts and produce signature cards, certificates of deposit, and other deposit documents.
- Use a combination of CARE skills, product knowledge, and knowledge of policies and procedures to suggest additional bank services such as other loan accounts, deposit services, and insurance products.
- Make referrals to Mortgage, Wealth Management, Financial Services, Business Banking, Elavon, Elan, Private Banking, Evergreen, Deluxe, etc.
- Contribute to branch goals and sales and service standards as outlined in the branch playbook and detailed by Branch Management.
- Execute professional sales and service behaviors in alignment with Bank’s Our Shared Future purpose, five values and core drivers.
- Follow up on loans and deposit accounts opened, correcting deficiencies or document exceptions in a timely fashion.
- Use the Sales & Service guide to complete proposed campaign calls on new and existing customers to generate new business as outlined in the Branch Playbook.
- Assist branch management in coaching staff regarding the S&T Sales process and expectations, as needed.
- Maintain a good working relationship with bank employees in other departments and business lines.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Complete NLMS requirements as part of the S.A.F.E. Act certification.
- Obtain and maintain registration with the registry and verification of a unique identifier under the S.A.F.E. Act guidelines; maintain annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the branch.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training or a two‑year degree.
ExperienceTwo to five years of general experience required; specialized experience preferred.
Physical DemandsOperates a keypad device 70% of the day; operates electronic equipment 10% of the day; operates office equipment 10% of the day. Standing required 2 hours per day in a straight position; sitting required 5 hours per day in a leaning position. Routine lifting up to 10 lbs., two times per day. Maximum lift 20 lbs. one time per day. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
