Description
Westmoreland Community Action is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Fiscal Analyst to support financial reporting, budgeting, and grant compliance functions. This mid-level position works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and program leadership to ensure strong fiscal oversight, accurate reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and private funding requirements.
The ideal candidate has non-profit accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to both fiscal and non-fiscal staff.
Responsibilities- Work with fiscal team to complete month-end closing process timely and effectively.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and provide summary analysis to CFO.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets in collaboration with department leaders.
- Responsible for general ledger integrity (GL accounts, programs, terms, period closing).
- Monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding requirements and approved budgets.
- Maintain and update cost allocations as necessary.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide financial projections.
- Serve as liaison between Fiscal and Human Resources department to ensure effective flow of data.
- Support audit preparation, documentation and required schedules.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual invoices for grantors and stakeholders.
- Maintains working knowledge of all positions within the Accounting Department. Fills in for or backs up other personnel as needed.
- Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, internal controls, and agency fiscal policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the CFO.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field required.
- 3–5 years of accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Required clearances:
Acts 33, 34, 114, and Sex Offender Registry. - Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and agency-required insurance coverage.
