* Job Requirements:

**** Education
* ** High School Diploma required
* Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
** Experience
* ** Medical Assistant experience preferred
* Front desk or patient registration experience preferred
* ** BLS certification required at time of hire** (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
** Certification / Equivalent Experience
** Candidates with
** less than one year of Medical Assistant experience
** must hold one of the following certifications:
* CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
* CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
* RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
* NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
* NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)
** In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:**
* ** 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
** in a hospital or urgent care setting
* ** 1+ years of phlebotomy experience**
* ** Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)**
* ** EMT – Emergency Medical Technician**
* ** Paramedic**
* ** CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant
** Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one
** within 15 months of hire   
**** CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.
**** Essential Responsibilities
*** Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
* Schedule appointments and process co-pays
* Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
* Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
* Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
* Assist providers with patient care and procedures
* Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
* Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
* Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
* Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
* All other duties as assigned.
