We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our Dietary Services team. This role is essential to ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe, clean, and compliant environment.

? Compensation & IncentivesStarting pay: $14.00/hour
$500 Sign-On Bonus (paid out bi-weekly)
No-Frills Pay Program: Earn an additional $2.00/hour by opting out of select benefits
Stable hours in a healthcare setting
Prepare and serve quality, palatable meals in accordance with planned menus, physician orders, and dietary guidelines. Work collaboratively with the Dietitian and Director of Food Services to ensure meals are safe, compliant, and delivered on time.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview menus and production sheets prior to meal preparation
Prepare regular and therapeutic diets following standardized recipes
Verify accuracy of special diet trays and meal substitutions
Ensure meals meet standards for appearance, portion size, texture, and temperature
Assist with plating, service, salad, dessert, and bread preparation
Maintain required menu, temperature, and production documentation
Coordinate menu changes with the Dietitian as needed
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
Properly clean and sanitize equipment according to schedule
Prepare and serve snacks and nourishments as ordered
Receive, store, rotate, and inventory food and supplies
Collaborate with nursing and other departments to support resident satisfaction
Maintain confidentiality of resident information (HIPAA)
Promote dignity, privacy, and respectful communication
Honor cultural and dietary preferences as appropriate
Report grievances, concerns, or suspected abuse per facility policy
Follow food safety, hand hygiene, and PPE standards
Maintain compliance with infection prevention policies
Use proper lifting techniques and equipment
Follow SDS and chemical handling guidelines
Report safety hazards, incidents, or equipment issues promptly
Participate in required safety and in-service training
Minimum 8th grade education
Ability to prepare foods in large quantities
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Knowledge of food preparation, portion control, and safe food handling
Food Safety Handler certification (or willingness to obtain/maintain)
Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
Professional and respectful demeanor with residents, staff, and visitors
Ability to stand for extended periods
Tolerate kitchen heat and humidity
Lift up to 50 pounds
Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Supportive leadership and team environment
