Position Overview

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a key role in supporting adults ages 18 and older with intellectual disabilities, autism, and/or mental health diagnoses. You will assist individuals with daily living activities, skill development, and community participation while fostering a safe and supportive environment. The ability to effectively navigate everyday challenges and behavioral situations is essential. This is more than a job-it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact each day.

Schedules are developed based on program needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks
  • Support individuals in building independent living skills and engaging in community activities
  • Monitor, document, and report progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with program guidelines
  • De-escalate crisis situations and remain calm during emergencies
  • Administer medications and follow prescribed healthcare plans
  • Promote and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families/guardians
  • Work assigned overtime as needed to meet program requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in human services, caregiving, or a related field preferred (paid training provided for qualified candidates)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to pass background checks and required clearances
  • Obtain DSP Certification (company paid) within six months of employment
