FULL-TIME ACTIVITY AIDE

If you have ever been told, “You should work with people,” this might be your sign.

Loyalhanna Care Center is looking for a Full-Time Activity Aide who can bring energy, creativity, and personality into our residents’ days.

We are not looking for someone to simply follow an activity calendar.

We are looking for someone who can help create the moments residents talk about later.

The themed party everyone wants to attend.

The game that gets way more competitive than expected.

The music afternoon that turns into a sing-along.

The resident who says, “I don’t want to go,” and ends up staying until the very end.

The simple conversation that completely changes someone’s day.

That is what this job is about.

Some days you may be running a game or craft.

Other days you might be helping with a party, decorating for an event, planning something new, taking residents outside, helping with an outing, playing music, visiting one-on-one, or convincing a room full of people to try something they have never done before.

No two days should feel exactly the same.

We want someone who will bring ideas to the table and say:

“What if we tried this?”

“Can we make this bigger?”

“I think the residents would love this.”

And then help us make it happen.

• You can walk into a room and make people feel comfortable
• You enjoy talking to people and hearing their stories
• You are creative and like coming up with new ideas
• You are not afraid to be a little silly when the moment calls for it
• You can lead a group without needing to be the loudest person in the room
• You are patient, dependable, and compassionate
• You like music, games, crafts, parties, holidays, events, sports, trivia, decorating, or planning
• You would rather have a job where every day is a little different
• You understand that sometimes the smallest interaction can mean the most

AND YES, THERE WILL PROBABLY (DEFINITLY!) BE BINGO.

But if bingo is the only thing you think of when you hear “Activities Department,” we want to change that.

We want activities that give residents something to anticipate.

Something to laugh about.

Something to participate in.

Something that feels normal, social, interesting, and fun.

Previous healthcare, senior living, recreation, activities, hospitality, childcare, customer service, events, or similar experience is helpful.

But we are also interested in people with the right personality who may have never worked in long-term care before.

You can teach someone how an activity department operates.

It is much harder to teach someone to genuinely enjoy making other people happy.

Because residents do not stop wanting to have fun, try new things, celebrate, laugh, compete, socialize, and enjoy life just because they moved into a care center.

Our Activities Department plays a huge role in making Loyalhanna feel less like a facility and more like a community.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of that.
