DescriptionJob Summary
This is a hands-on position with responsibilities that include the daily production of injection molding processes. The duties within this function should optimize the goals and objectives of the company. Assure the quality of the parts being produced in the cell. Provides support to the leaders of the cell team.
- 1. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and sees that all shop safety rules are being followed and all housekeeping standards are met.
- 2. Cooperates with Process Technicians and appropriate technical staff and QC team on all adjacent shifts to provide efficient turnover of operations from one shift to the other.
- 3. Will complete all job-related reports and documentation in a timely manner such as production reports, machine setups, process data, etc. Able to work within the Maximo database creating and administration of work orders.
- 4. Trained to handle in-press mold cleanings with the PTs per SOP.
- 5. Will learn to Identify potential problems with machinery, automation, robots, molds, process criteria, and auxiliary equipment and any other item that could interfere with quality requirements and meeting production schedules.
- 6. Will learn to trouble-shoot/fix equipment problems contributing to downtime, inefficiency, and scrap.
- 7. Maintain setup sheets and logging process changes on jobs during production.
- 8. Will assist with process setup, including mold setup, press setup, automation, robots, auxiliary equipment setup, proper material handling and all other requirements to bring a job into production.
- 9. Other responsibilities include process adjustments, molding techniques, molding machine operations, auxiliary equipment operations, monitoring of cycle times, and keeping scrap rates to a minimum.
- 10. Cooperates with other departments to ensure that product quality meets customer’s expectations.
- 11. Performs, verifies and/or documents all required in process data, such as control on 1st and last shots, process deviations, out-of-control conditions, etc.
- 12. Ability to work various shifts and flexibility in order to learn throughout all cells.
- 13. Mentors and shadows the Process Development Specialist.
- 14. Works in tooling and maintenance for a designated period gaining experience on preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Injection Molding Processing Experience
- Vision – 20/25 or better (with or without corrective lens)
- Demonstrates mechanical aptitude.
- 2/2/3 Night shift long term, but will train M‑F dayshift initially for roughly 3 months while training
