Practical Nursing Simulation Lab Trainer (Regular Part-Time/Latrobe)
This position is responsible to provide a comprehensive learning experience utilizing simulation technology to the students in the Practical Nursing Program. Essential job functions include maintaining skills and simulation laboratory hours, educating faculty regarding simulation lab utilization, coordinating with faculty for curriculum integration, facilitating instructional modalities, interfacing with faculty and staff for optimum simulation equipment functioning, providing a safe learning environment, offering tutoring support, fostering participant learning, acting as a resource person, ensuring security of the lab and equipment, monitoring lab supplies inventory, and validating each simulation based on current best practice.
Other job functions involve maintaining records, participating in departmental meetings, and performing additional grade level duties as assigned. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include demonstrated use of nursing best practices, understanding of clinical practices, basic computer skills, excellent customer service, handling sensitive issues, good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, responding to unpleasant situations professionally, organizing and prioritizing work, managing multiple projects, and identifying and solving problems.
Required qualifications include a BSN with evidence of a plan for obtaining a graduate degree in nursing within five years, two years of recent acute care/medical surgical bedside nursing experience, prior work experience in nursing education, current Pennsylvania or Multi-State Registered Nurse license, and a valid driver's license. Clearances required include PA Child History, PA Criminal Record Check, and FBI Federal Criminal History Record.
