American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN
- Medical Surgical with an active PA or Compact license for a hospital position requiring rotating day/night shifts.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• 13-week assignment length
• Rotating shifts including Day (3x12 Hours, 7:00-19:30) and Night (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line/PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and peripheral line care preferred
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and MS/Tele settings preferred
• Experience managing insulin, heparin, and PCA medications
• Skilled in colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care preferred
• Experience with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) preferred
• Experience with pre/post neurosurgery and substance withdrawal care preferred
• Experience with total joint replacement and peripheral nerve block catheters preferred
• Familiarity with Rapid Response/Code team protocols preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Utilize oxygen administration equipment including nasal cannula and oxygen tanks as needed
• Manage surgical drains and support post-surgical recovery for plastics patients
• Must reside within a 10-mile radius for potential floating to sister facilities
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis (every other holiday)
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Travel pairs accepted based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
