Description
Full‑time position with benefits. The Public Safety Department at Saint Vincent College has an opening for an Unarmed Public Safety Officer. This role will detect and prevent crime, enforce all Saint Vincent rules and regulations and Pennsylvania laws, preserve peace, and protect life and property within the assigned area.
Required QualificationsEducation:
high school diploma or equivalent. Pennsylvania Act 235, Lethal Weapons Training or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in security or law enforcement.
- Experience working with the general public is highly desirable.
- Ability to pass medical, psychological screening and extensive background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Knowledge of first aid techniques.
- Knowledge of Microsoft computer applications and ability to type a minimum of 20 words per minute.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Automatic External Defibrillator, First Aid, ASP Baton, and Pepper Spray certification are highly desirable.
- Valid PA driver’s license.
