QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate's degree or two years of study at an institution of higher education (with a minimum of 60 semester hours) or successful completion of the Parapro test required.
2. Applicant must demonstrate a level of knowledge and/or experience appropriate to the position.
3. Ability to perform the following actions with full range of motion and manual dexterity: bending, moderate lifting, twisting, carrying and moving objects, typing and reaching.
4. Favorable criminal background check and child protection registry check for the candidate offered employment required.
5. Tuberculin test required.
6. Participation in Direct Deposit required.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Provide individualized instructional, visual, and social one-on-one support for a student with Autism.
2. Provide small group instructional support when not working in a one-on-one capacity.
3. Provide safe facilitation of transitions and communication with the student's peers and staff.
4. Facilitate safe orientation and mobility of the student to help navigate the school, classrooms, recreational and cafeteria areas as the student becomes orientated to new physical spaces.
5. Supervise other students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and/or other times as designated, when not with one-on-one student.
6. Maintain records and data on student performance in the following areas: transition throughout the school community, communication with teachers and peers, social interactions and reciprocal communication with all individuals.
7. Monitor other students' behaviors and assisting students to engage in appropriate behavior when not working in a one-on-one capacity.
8. Attend the IEP meetings of the assigned one-on-one student as appropriate.
9. Demonstrates strong organizational skills with proficiency in record keeping, filing, typing, document preparation, database management and professional telephone and e-mail etiquette.
10. Knowledge of and experience with various forms of technology and software; proficiency in eSchool and Microsoft® Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher).
11. Adhere to and meet the needs of students as outlined in their IEP, if applicable.
12. Professional demeanor with demonstrated ability to communicate in English and relate to the public and school district staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
13. Established record of good attendance and performance.

TERMS OF 1. 37.5 hours/week, 185 days/year
