Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking a Model Validation Risk Analyst to support our Credit Risk team.

The Model Validation Risk Analyst is part of the Model Risk Management (MRM) group, which resides within the Credit Risk department. The Model Validation Risk Analyst is responsible for reviewing and assessing quantitative models as part of the company Model Risk Management framework. The Model Validation Risk Analyst ensures the proper usage of quantitative models by the business and communicates any limitations or weaknesses to model users, advocating for compensating controls where necessary.

Continental Finance Company models are held to the standard guided by the principles outlined in supervisory guidance letter SR 11-7.

CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)

Essential Functions:

  • Independently validate quantitative models throughout the organization, adhering to company Model Risk Management Policy and protocols.
  • Generate comprehensive model validation reports, emphasizing model risks and limitations.
  • Review testing methodologies and outcomes for each model, aligning with MRM directives.
  • Evaluate continuous performance monitoring of models.
  • Contribute to regulatory and internal audit responses.
  • Partner with Risk and Business teams on quantitative models to ensure policy, procedure, and guidance compliance.
  • Aid in the preparation of reports and meeting materials for MRM senior management.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related quantitative field (e.g., statistics, quantitative finance, econometrics).
  • Master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience in Banking, Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, or Analytics.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and meticulous documentation.
  • Capable of multitasking, thriving under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with financial markets and products.
  • Experience in quantitative model risk management
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python.
