Responsibilities
  • Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Overseeing the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coaching to strengthen performance and ensuring consistent follow‑up.
  • Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and guardrails.
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team to demonstrate compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s health‑care team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues.
  • Proactively offering and delivering immunizations, engaging pharmacy technicians to learn to immunize.
  • Managing pharmacy inventory, following best practices and protecting cold‑chain products.
  • Conducting new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure.
  • Ensuring pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Partnering with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues willing to work in the pharmacy.
  • Overseeing Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance, delivering annual reviews and closing gaps.
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, and overseeing pharmacy scheduling.
  • Reviewing business reporting for operational insights and developing action plans to close gaps.
  • Establishing a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety and encouraging feedback.
  • Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills through required trainings and CMEs, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
  • Supporting access to care and improving patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception).
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
  • Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.
  • Customer service and team orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner, notice and respond to patient reactions.
  • Communication skills: verbal and written communication, active listening, asking questions.
  • Mathematical reasoning: determine number of tablets, day’s supply, bottle quantity.
  • Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.
  • Physical demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, etc.
  • Express or exchange ideas by spoken word with accuracy.
  • Team management and leadership: lead by example, delegate tasks, motivate, foster collaboration, coach team members, and address performance issues.
Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
  • 1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program.
  • 3‑5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $65.00–$85.00. The pay depends on experience, education, geography and other factors. Additional incentive programs may apply.
