Placers Professional, a division of Placers Delaware, United States

About the Role

The President will serve as the executive leader, assuming operational and strategic control from the founding partner. This individual will oversee the strategic direction, operational execution, and financial performance of a diverse portfolio of residential (multifamily) and commercial real estate assets. The primary mandates for this role are to transition the company from partner-led operations to a scalable management platform, drive Net Operating Income (NOI), and expand the firm's footprint in the Mid-Atlantic market.

The President will be responsible for leading the company through strategic and operational challenges while ensuring financial performance and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic & Executive Leadership: Establish the long-term vision and annual business plans for the firm. Act as the primary liaison between the executive team, external investors, and the ownership group.
  • Financial & Asset Management: Own the corporate P&L. Oversee portfolio financial performance, driving Net Operating Income (NOI) and ensuring properties meet or exceed budget expectations. Direct capital expenditure (Cap Ex) planning, financing strategies, and property repositioning efforts.
  • Operational Leadership and Asset Performance: Drive portfolio performance by maximizing occupancy, revenue, expense management, and long-term asset value. Champion exceptional client service and enterprise governance through transparent reporting, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and fulfillment of owner and tenant commitments.
  • Growth & Business Development: Source and secure new third-party property management contracts. Identify opportunities for portfolio acquisition, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships within Delaware and surrounding markets.
  • Team & Culture Development: Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of regional managers, property managers, leasing directors, and maintenance staff. Cultivate a culture of accountability and tenant satisfaction.
  • Investor and Owner Relations: Build trusted relationships with owners, investors, lenders, and strategic partners through transparent communication, performance reporting, and strategic guidance.
  • Building Infrastructure, Scaling the Organization and Maintaining Culture: Develop the people, processes, systems, and technology needed to support growth while preserving the company's culture and service excellence.
  • Risk management: Provide executive oversight of regulatory compliance, legal and operational risk, insurance, safety, cybersecurity, and business continuity to protect the company's people, properties, and reputation.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee customer service, deliverables including reporting, compliance, and core tenant requirements.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in real estate operations, with a strong background managing both multifamily and commercial asset portfolios.
  • Prior experience acting as a CEO, President, VP of Property Management, or COO, ideally having navigated a founder-transition or scaled a mid-market firm.
  • Deep understanding of the Delaware/Mid-Atlantic real estate market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of driving NOI and executing value-add real estate strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen and high proficiency with institutional property management software (e.g., Yardi, Real Page, Entrata).
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale residential and commercial real estate portfolios, with responsibility for significant assets and complex property operations.
  • Strong expertise in cash flow management, capital planning, budgeting, financing strategies, and banking relationships.
