Institutional Overview
Capitol Technology University is a career-focused university located in Laurel, Maryland, between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. It is a fully-accredited non-profit private university that was started in 1927 by a Navy veteran to teach students how to build radios. Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of Assessment and Accreditation oversees the assessment of student learning outcomes and provides support in the evaluation of academic programs of the university, integrates assessment activities and results with accreditation processes, and disseminates obtained information among relevant constituents and stakeholders.
This is a full-time 12-month, exempt position on our beautiful 52-acre campus in Laurel, MD, on the Baltimore Washington parkway.
Responsibilities
* Provides strategic leadership and expertise on assessment and accreditation processes;
* Collaborates with campus units through the development and maintenance of structures and processes to demonstrate educational and institutional effectiveness;
* Collaborate with staff and faculty to develop and implement a comprehensive system for assessing institutional effectiveness and student learning;
* Assist departments in designing and conducting benchmarking, outcome, satisfaction, and other studies;
* Integrates assessment and evaluation efforts across campus, and integrates assessment activities and results with accreditation processes;
* Provides professional leadership of the assessment process by communicating the purposes of student outcomes assessment, designing and delivering programs and workshops to a wide range of participants;
* Analyze and communicate the results of assessments conducted and evaluate the effectiveness of established assessment processes to all stakeholders;
* Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Higher Education or related field;
* 5 years' experience with formal assessment processes;
* Experience with regional and national accreditation processes;
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
* Experience editing and proofreading, with the ability to produce high-quality materials while adhering to multiple deadlines;
* Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively;
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks and deadlines;
* Ability to adapt to competing and shifting priorities with high levels of efficiency and accuracy;
* Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to analytical rigor;
* Knowledge of assessment principles and tools in higher education;
* Experience in the design of a variety of assessment tools such as surveys, focus groups, rubrics, etc.
Physical Demands
There are limited physical demands; however, this position requires sitting occasionally for extended periods of time, and repetitive motions for tasks such as operating a computer mouse and keyboard, and hearing and speaking on the telephone. The candidate must be able to lift, pull, bend, grasp, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Salary Range
The salary for this position typically ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
