YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior CADD/Design Support Specialist, your responsibilities will encompass:
* Prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings, exhibits, and contract documents using Micro Station and AutoCAD in accordance with project requirements and established drafting standards.
* Develop plan sheets for transportation, utility, structures, drainage, site development, and other civil engineering projects under the direction of engineering staff.
* Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to incorporate design changes and produce accurate construction documents.
* Organize and manage electronic drawing files, reference data, and project documentation using established file management procedures.
* Conduct quality reviews of drawings to identify inconsistencies, omissions, and adherence to project standards and client requirements.
* Produce quantity calculations, exhibits, details, and supporting graphics as needed for design and permitting packages.
* Participate in interdisciplinary coordination to integrate information from multiple technical disciplines into final deliverables.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of CADD standards, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
* Provide guidance and technical direction to junior CADD staff and support their professional development.
* Perform field visits, as required, to gather information and verify existing conditions in support of project development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:
* A high school diploma.
* 3-5 years of experience performing CADD drafting and design support for civil engineering, transportation, utility, or infrastructure projects.
* Proficiency in Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Openroads.
* Working knowledge of transportation, utility, site development, and civil engineering drafting standards.
* Experience preparing construction plans, engineering exhibits, and technical drawings.
* Ability to interpret engineering sketches, markups, specifications, and technical documentation.
* Ability to develop and prepare pipeline profiles from contour lines within street rights-of-way, including determination of pipeline grades, elevations, and related design features.
* Excellent oral and written communication.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Associate degree or technical certification in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
* Experience utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer to develop and modify 3D models.
* Experience supporting transportation, structures, roadway, utility, drainage, and site development projects throughout various phases of design.
* Familiarity with Maryland Department of Transportation, Virginia Department of Transportation, and local government drafting standards and procedures.
