Storage Engineer Jobs

Job Title

Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support various storage and backup platforms and associated management tools.

Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and related technologies.

Adhere to engineering and architecture standards and participate in technical review meetings as required.

Participate in the evaluation, deployment, management, and integration of new technologies in collaboration with engineers, architects, and technical service teams.

Provide incident support and participate in on-call rotations during off-hours and weekends.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including logical and physical diagrams, run books, engineering and operational documentation.

Demonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processes.

Oversee the installation of new storage hardware and software in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Manage updates to hardware, operating systems, and software to ensure required functionality and security.

Ensure systems are properly monitored and that metrics related to capacity, performance, utilization, and availability are regularly collected and reviewed.

Stay current on developments in storage and backup technologies to help Federal staff assess future technology direction and strategy.

Net App experience is a must. Hands-on engineering experience with Net App and other storage technologies and concepts (Storage Area Network - SAN & Network Attached Storage - NAS).

Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience, an Associates and 15 years, or 20 years of experience with no degree.

IAT Level 2 Certification Required
