Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Coastal Sunbelt Produce is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement of fresh produce and specialty foods for our Mid-Atlantic customers. In this fast-paced, quality-focused role, you will forecast demand, source from approved vendors, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing waste. You'll collaborate closely with sales, operations, and quality assurance to align purchasing with customer needs and food safety standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, proven purchasing experience, and a commitment to reliability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase fresh produce and specialty foods from approved suppliers.
• Forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer needs and minimize waste.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost and margin targets.
• Monitor vendor performance, quality, and on-time delivery; resolve issues promptly.
• Analyze purchasing data and market trends to adjust buying strategies.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and quality teams to align purchasing with customer requirements and food safety standards.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, pricing, and item information in ERP systems.
• Support continuous improvement in procurement processes, cost control, and service reliability.
