Skillforce is now hiring experienced Drywall Finishers for a project in Halethorpe, MD, near Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI).

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4+ years of drywall finishing experience
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Compensation & Schedule:
  • Pay: Starting at $30/hour, based on experience and skill level
  • Duration: Approximately 1.5 months, with the potential for a second project based on performance and work ethic
Finisher Core Responsibilities
  • Spread compound over drywall seams, screw/nail holes, and imperfections.
  • Place paper or mesh tape into the first coat of compound to reinforce seams and prevent cracking.
  • Sand surfaces to achieve a smooth, paint-ready finish while minimizing dust and surface damage.
  • Install and finish inside and outside corner beads using compound or metal/plastic corner trims.
  • Fix dents, cracks, holes, and surface defects in new or existing drywall.
  • Ensure surfaces are clean and properly primed for painting or texturing.
  • Operate taping knives, sanding tools, stilts, applicators, and texture sprayers safely.
  • Follow safety protocols, manage dust control, and maintain a clean work area.
Hanger Core Responsibilities
  • Lift, position, and secure drywall panels to wall studs or ceiling joists using screws, nails, or adhesive.
  • Install backing, blocking, or supports where needed to reinforce edges and fixtures.
  • Ensure tight-fitting joints and accurately aligned panels to minimize gaps for finishers.
  • Hang moisture-resistant, fire-rated, soundproof, or impact-resistant drywall types as required.
  • Operate drywall lifts, stilts, and scaffolding safely, especially for ceiling installations.
  • Work with electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and inspectors to ensure walls are ready for closure.
  • Follow building codes, safety standards, and specifications for layout, fire-rating assemblies, and fastening patterns.
  • Prepare surfaces, clean job areas, and dispose of scrap materials safely.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years commercial and residential experience
  • Proof of US Citizenship (passport or birth cert)
  • Valid Driver's License
