Application Developer
Job DescriptionThe Analytic and Analyst Investigation Frameworks team is seeking an experienced application developer responsible for designing, developing, and deploying a complex, scalable web application that leverages a Kubernetes cluster to orchestrate a collection of containerized services.
ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Development
- Design and build scalable, high-performance web application architectures.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Python or Java.
- Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Architect and implement data pipelines to ingest, process, and deliver data to applications.
- Create dynamic, user-friendly data visualizations and interactive dashboards using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Solid, jQuery).
Testing & Deployment
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient, automated delivery.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications in production environments, ensuring performance and stability.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner cross-functionally with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver impactful solutions.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts and system designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 14 years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or 4 additional years of relevant SWE experience in lieu of a degree).
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Proficiency in Python or Java.
- Experience with web application development frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, Spring Boot).
- Experience with data pipelines and data processing tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Kubernetes concepts including deployments, services, pods, name spaces, and resource management.
- Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Experience with Apache Spark is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
