Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
The Complex Engineer will be responsible for managing engineering activities at six (6) complex locations (2 hatcheries, 1 feed mill, 1 processing plant, 1 debone plant and 1 prepared foods/DC plant). The engineering activities include supporting operations management to promote continuous improvements within the complex.
Responsibilities- Design and develop improvement opportunities working with management teams and outside resources to explore opportunities for process improvements.
- Function as the project manager for assigned projects managing scope, schedule and budget.
- Communicate effectively to all levels of management.
- All other relevant duties to the job.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred with 10+ years of experience in industry related roles.
- 5+ years of work experience (prefer Food Industry related with Poultry emphasis).
- Must have experience with managing projects with multiple internal and external professional teams.
- Ability to recognize continuous improvement projects and develop found opportunities into projects (Six Sigma Green Belt preferred).
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Comfortable with speaking to large groups of people and leading project teams.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access).
- Excellent CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit and 3D).
- Travel will be required along with working weekends and overnight as needed.
Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment. Frequently sit for long periods. Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines. May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments. Work around live chickens and/or raw to partially cooked meat protein odors. May be exposed to building structures up to 200 feet tall.
