Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands‑on Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day production activities on the shop floor. This role is responsible for driving operational performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while building and developing a high‑performing team.
This is an ideal opportunity for:
- A current Production/Operations leader
, or - Manufacturing/Process Engineer ready to step into leadership
- Lead daily shop floor operations
, including team meetings, production execution, and staffing - Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (waste reduction, standard work, process optimization)
- Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met efficiently
- Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable for performance and safety
- Provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and manage disciplinary actions when needed
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and training teams
- Monitor and manage labor efficiency, overtime, and workforce planning
- Support a strong culture of safety, quality, and compliance
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions
- Engage with customers as needed on product quality, testing, and process‑related matters
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Business, or related field)
- 4+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- (or 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in lieu of degree)
- Proven experience driving Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on production environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Aerospace or automotive manufacturing background
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems
- Experience with thermal processing, coatings, or specialized manufacturing processes
- Background in process engineering or manufacturing engineering
- Reports directly to the Plant Manager
