Wastewater Operator Class -II

Position: Wastewater Operator Class I-II
H2O Innovation provides public works management services & operations assistance for water & wastewater treatment plants to municipalities, government organizations, and businesses across North America.

H2O is currently seeking a Wastewater Operator (Class I-II) to join our team in Laurel, Mississippi.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes under supervision

* Perform routine inspections, sampling, and basic laboratory testing

* Record operational data and maintain accurate logs

* Assist with minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment

* Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements

* Respond to alarms and assist in troubleshooting process or equipment issues

* Support preventative maintenance activities on pumps, valves, and other plant equipment

* Assist with process adjustments to help maintain compliance with permit requirements

The Skills We Are Looking For

* Active Class I or Class II Wastewater Operator License

* Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant operations

* Willingness to learn and grow within the wastewater industry, with the goal of advancing certification levels

* Ability to follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines

* Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic tools and equipment

* Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record data

* Basic computer skills for data entry and system monitoring

* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

* Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work in varying environmental conditions
