Job Summary

Provides nursing care through physician‑ordered and independent interventions, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current RN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to read, write, understand verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Perform admission and ongoing assessments.
  • Establish and implement individualized Plans of Care.
  • Teach patients/families about conditions, medications, and self‑care.
  • Develop discharge plans to prevent readmission.
  • Document assessments and care accurately.
  • Report patient needs, incidents, and changes promptly.
  • Safely administer and monitor medications.
  • Recognize safety risks and implement prevention measures.
  • Participate in performance improvement.
  • Demonstrate competency in required clinical skills.
Professional Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to RN scope of practice and hospital policies.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and participate in growth opportunities.
  • Supervise and support LPNs, assistants, techs, and students.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Seek guidance when appropriate.
  • Adapt to change and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Complete assignments and assist others as needed.
  • Foster teamwork within the unit.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.
  • Assist with patient repositioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
