Position: INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY RN - SCH RADIOLOGY

Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Provides specialized nursing care throughout the perioperative process for Interventional Radiology patients. Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, multidisciplinary team members, patients, and families to optimize patient outcomes, ensure patient safety, and promote high quality care before, during, and after interventional procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing.
  • Current Mississippi RN License or Compact License.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
  • Critical Care experience preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assess patients, review histories, medications, allergies, laboratory results, and obtain pre-procedure documentation.
  • Obtain and maintain intravenous access and administer medications including conscious sedation.
  • Monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to interventions before, during, and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures and maintain sterile technique.
  • Monitor for and respond to complications and notify providers of abnormal findings.
  • Provide accurate and timely perioperative documentation.
  • Transport patients as needed and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout care.
  • Participate in identification and implementation of patient care needs to achieve optimal outcomes.
Professional Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to RN scope of practice and organizational policies.
  • Maintain professional competency and pursue professional growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a positive role model, preceptor, and team member.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Support staffing needs and unit workflow as needed.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, safety, and quality improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull patients and equipment safely.
  • Manual dexterity for nursing procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
