Job Summary

The Construction Crew Member’s primary responsibility is to perform physical labor, welding/cutting of metal, and operate vehicles/equipment for construction projects associated with advertising structures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Construct, install, maintain, upgrade, and remove outdoor advertising structures under the direction of the crew chief.
  • Operate and maintain trucks, metal cutting/welding equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely.
  • Complete required paperwork for job implementation and completion (e.g., timecards, work orders, safety compliance, and vehicle/equipment inspections).
  • Assist crew chief and crew members with all site issues and tasks.
  • Work independently or within a crew with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and materials necessary for each job.
  • Repair and maintain welding and cutting supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure proper fit and assembly of all sign structure components.
  • Prime and paint all welded material.
  • Instruct others on work processes, safety, and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment at all times.
  • Install, remove, and rotate outdoor advertising displays and extensions (vinyl, wood, or other material).
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of rented equipment when needed.
  • Apply knowledge of OSHA and safe workplace practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and requested.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Work experience related to the construction field.
Education and Certifications (Preferred/Required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience related to each certification.
  • Certified Rigger.
  • NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
  • OSHA 10- or 30‑hour Certification.
  • Valid welding certificate covering unlimited thickness, issued by an accredited testing facility, using Structural Welding Code D1.1 for SMAW or FCAW in vertical and overhead positions.
  • Certified and proficient in all aspects of fit and welding of structural steel.
  • Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or

    B.

Physical Demands
  • Climb ladders and/or stairs and work at elevations from 10 feet to more than 100 feet.

  • Stand, bend, stoop, lift, hold, push, and pull self, materials, and equipment exceeding 85 pounds.
  • Use pulleys, lifts, slings, and other equipment required for elevated work.
  • Operate welding equipment, chainsaw, jack hammer, air impact, and other hand tools.
  • Hoist, align, erect, lift, set, and assemble structural steel and sign components.
  • Dale and shovel various soils, concrete, and fill materials.
Other Requirements
  • In and out‑of‑state travel and overtime may be required.
Salary & Compensation

Targeted Salary Range for this Maryland position: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.

Hourly roles are overtime eligible;
Operations roles are Productivity Pay eligible.
