Job Summary:
As the lead medical professional on an ambulance or transport unit, you will provide critical, high-level advanced life support and pre-hospital care to the ill and injured within Laurens County. You will lead a team of EMTs during a 24-hour tour of duty, making life-saving decisions and performing advanced medical interventions when our community needs it most. Your role is essential in bridging the gap between the scene of an emergency and the hospital, ensuring every patient receives expert care and safe transport.
TopResponsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership & Advanced Care: Serve as the lead medical staff on emergency calls, providing advanced life support, administering drugs, and performing invasive procedures within your licensed parameters.
- Emergency Readiness: Maintain constant readiness during 24-hour shifts by inspecting, resupplying, and maintaining all necessary medical materials and emergency vehicles.
- Scene Management & Assessment: Respond to emergency locations to analyze situations, determine the most effective treatment methods, and coordinate with receiving hospitals or physicians.
- Mentorship & Supervision: Provide leadership, guidance, and training to lower-level EMTs, new employees, and students to ensure high standards of care.
- Administrative Oversight: Maintain precise legal documentation in patient care reporting systems and process various records such as daily shift and incident reports.

RequirementsWhat you Bring:
- Experience: At least two years of experience in emergency medical services.
- Education: An associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in emergency medical services.
- Skill Highlight: Proven leadership ability to manage emergency scenes calmly, operate specialized equipment like ventilators and CPAP devices, and communicate effectively with medical providers and the public.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid SC driver’s license and the following certifications: SC EMT-Paramedic, BLS, PHTLS or BTLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and CEVO.
