General Statement of JobResponsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety in a building. Perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms. Take out trash and restock supplies. May be responsible for minor repairs or reporting major maintenance issues.
Essential Job Functions- Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs or unclogging pipes.
- Sanitize and disinfect surfaces in restrooms, common areas, and high-touch points.
- Wipe down and sanitize surfaces.
- Maintain a neat and orderly janitor’s room; ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Ensure ground areas are clean and orderly.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Respond promptly to spills or accidents to ensure employee and guest safety.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and other equipment.
- Assist with the general janitorial maintenance of buildings and facilities as needed, including but not limited to stripping and waxing floors.
- Receive and respond to inquiries, requests for assistance, concerns, and complaints in areas of responsibility.
- Receive and review various documents, including policies and procedures, schedules, work orders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by six months of experience as a janitor/laborer or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
