NIPG Laurens is seeking applicants for our Production Planner position. The teammate in this position must be successful working in a team setting or independently on projects that will help the division reach its goals. This position will also require great levels of cross-departmental collaboration to ensure that production constraints are factored into the daily schedules and to resolve scheduling challenges as they arise.
The duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Analyze, plan, and coordinate production schedules based on sales forecasts, orders, inventory levels, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with scheduling, customer service, supply chain/inventory teams, and operations to maximize efficiency based on customer requirements and material, labor, and machine capacity.
- Work with project coordinators, inventory, operations, shipping, and leadership to review changes and communicate schedule updates.
- Assess production capacity and asset allocation to identify and prevent bottlenecks.
- Prepare, analyze, and manage reports.
- Perform additional departmental duties as needed.
- Act as a backup if the Production Control Supervisor is unavailable.

Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year experience Nucor and/or familiarity with production processes or scheduling
- Must possess the ability to use Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Initiative – Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Judgement/Decision Making – Critical thinking skills; considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Attention to Detail – Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.
- Teamwork – Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal, while holding others accountable.
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish individual work. Includes reprioritizing as needed to help the line accomplish an overall goal.
- Time Management – Effectively managing one's own time.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in utilizing D365 (Microsoft Dynamics 365) to streamline operations and boost productivity.
