We are searching for a motivated & experienced Manager
-Sanitation
Sanitation Manager is responsible for the Supervision and direction of all shifts of the Sanitation Department. Manage all assigned activities that support and maintain company Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures. Supervise, implement, execute and educate the sanitation work force in the proper and effective sanitation processes to ensure effective food safety, food defense, SQF, and Quality Sanitation System Practices. Adhere to hiring practices, time keeping, training, and employee safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Ensure sanitation cleaning processes are according to established specifications and guidelines as provided by the chemical cleaning company.
- Maintains a safe work environment for all employees.
- Participates in promoting Continuous Improvement culture.
- Assists in developing sanitation budget and meet or exceed in fiscal year.
- Participates in team plant leadership approach in meeting or exceeding all plant goals and Key Performance Indicators.
- Oversees daily operations of the sanitation department, constantly monitoring efficiency while searching for methods to improve overall performance.
- Supervises, trains and develops a strong sanitation team.
- Prepares facilities for annual SQF audit.
- Conducts daily team meetings to ensure your team has the information needed to perform their daily tasks safely and efficiently so that production schedules are not delayed.
- Maintains, revises and monitors a master sanitation schedule (MSS) that's executable on a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning.
- Develops sanitation standard operational procedures (SSOP) according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and FDA regulations for all sanitation tasks.
- Conducts safety training to comply with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Ensures sanitation work orders are completed as necessary.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding all established quality standards.
- Works with outside vendors to support plant operations.
- Enforces HACCP and GMP practices on plant floor.
- Ensures plant sanitation is always audit ready.
- Establishes and maintains system of daily sanitor task assignment sheets to ensure a smooth work flow along with employee accountability.
- Inspects sanitation equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Communicates with maintenance manager and plant manager to ensure the proper scheduling of sanitation tasks to avoid conflicts with maintenance tasks and/or production.
- Conducts meetings to address and resolve employee issues and as necessary confers with the Plant Manager and Human Resources for assistance
- Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
- As part of your supervisory responsibility and as a back-up, supervisors must be able to do your work in ways that ensure safe food. You must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Formal training is not required, but in house Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory.
You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code
- Minimum of 5-7 years of Sanitation and or Food Manufacturing leadership experience.
- HACCP Certification and Food Safety, GMP, SQF background preferred
- Good written and verbal communication;
Communicates and documents issues effectively in a multi-task, multi-shift operation - Proficient computer knowledge (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Excellent trouble shooting skills and Ability to read and interpret instructions.
- Bachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four-year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Bilingual English
