Job Details
• General OR setting within a community hospital environment,
• Handles a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, urology, vascular, ENT, ophthalmology, and podiatry,
• C-section cases are part of the caseload,
• Trauma cases including gunshot wounds, stab wounds, and MVA (multiple injuries) are part of the caseload,
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts with start time of 6:30 AM,
• Call rotation required approximately once per week, plus up to 2 weekend call shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday),
• Epic EMR is required,
• Floating within the hospital as needed,
Job Requirements
• Active NC or Compact RN license required,
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS; CNOR and PALS preferred,
• Minimum of 2.5 years of OR RN experience required; 4 years preferred,
• Minimum of 2 prior travel assignments required; first-time travelers will not be considered,
• C-section experience required,
• Trauma experience required, including gunshot and stab wounds,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Broad general OR experience across multiple specialties required,
• Two professional references from a supervisor completed within the last two years required for consideration,
• Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration,
• COVID vaccination card required; exemption requests must be submitted within 72 hours of acceptance using the facility form,
Additional Information
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a reduced pay rate,
• RTO is limited to 5 days or less for the duration of the assignment; blocked scheduling will not be approved,
• Former staff who left in good standing may be eligible to return after a minimum of 1 year away, provided they are not local candidates,
• Preferred skills include a wide range of OR procedures: laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, orthopedic and spine surgery, vascular surgery, and more,
• Preferred equipment experience includes cell saver, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources,
• Knowledge of Universal Protocol, laser safety, radiation safety, malignant hyperthermia protocols, and infection control is valued,
• Emergency response responsibilities include code response and fire safety awareness,
