Reporting to the Correctional Associate Warden of Operations, this position provides supervision of subordinate officers and their assigned tasks and activities regarding the custody and welfare of male offenders in a Minimum/Medium/Close custody state correctional facility.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
- Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms.
- Accounting for persons and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
- Performing various duty assignments with the defined level of work and ensuring 24/7 staffing coverage.
- Supervising and assigning subordinate officers to a particular area or post. Employee is responsible for subordinate officers' activities relating to the custody and welfare of offenders.

Salary Range: $41,206 - $72,113

Knowledge of facility operations, Knowledge of Prisons’ policy and procedures.
- MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302), Pass a criminal background check, Produce a negative drug screening result, Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations, Possess a valid driver’s license.
This position is designated as “Mandatory” and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
