I’m supporting a global semiconductor organisation that is expanding its commercial team and is looking to appoint a Junior Sales Manager to support customer development and grow into a full account-ownership role over time.

This position is specifically suited to someone early in their sales career, or to an engineer from applications, process, or customer-facing technical roles who is looking to transition into sales while maintaining strong technical credibility.

You’ll work closely with senior sales managers and application engineers, gaining structured exposure to account management, design-win strategy, and commercial decision-making within the semiconductor industry.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Supporting senior sales managers in managing and developing assigned customer accounts
  • Assisting with account planning and contributing to revenue and design-win objectives
  • Identifying new business opportunities within existing customers and selected new accounts
  • Supporting the development and tracking of a design-win pipeline for future revenue
  • Acting as a day-to-day commercial contact for customers alongside senior colleagues
  • Building relationships with customer engineers, buyers, and technical stakeholders
  • Developing a strong understanding of customer applications, manufacturing processes, and technology roadmaps
  • Preparing customer presentations, proposals, and technical-commercial updates
  • Participating in customer meetings, reviews, and site visits
  • Working closely with internal engineering, applications, marketing, and operations teams
  • Supporting pricing discussions, bids, and contract implementation
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, pipeline updates, and sales reporting
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to build commercial awareness
  • Ensuring a high standard of customer experience across logistics, operations, and technical support
  • Travelling to customer sites and internal locations as required for learning and relationship development
What they’re looking for:
  • Early-career sales professionals or engineers from applications, process, or customer-facing technical roles
  • 2–5 years’ experience in semiconductors or a related high-technology environment
  • Degree-level education in engineering, physics, electronics, or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong technical curiosity and the ability to translate technical concepts into customer value
  • Clear interest in developing a long-term career in sales or commercial leadership
  • Confident communicator with good presentation skills
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn commercial fundamentals such as pricing, forecasting, and account planning
  • Experience with CRM systems or structured reporting tools is advantageous
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as part of customer and team development
