Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 base salary + benefits + pension plan

Position Overview

A customs coordinator at Stevens manages and oversees import and export activities to ensure shipments move smoothly across borders while complying with all relevant customs laws and regulations. This role is crucial in logistics and supply chain operations for organizations involved in global trade.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review customs documentation, such as import/export declarations and shipping manifests
  • Coordinate with customs officials and brokers to clear shipments efficiently and resolve issues related to customs or duties
  • Maintain accurate, organized records for all customs transactions and compliance performance
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and ensure ongoing compliance with trade laws
  • Manage payment of duties and taxes, review broker billings, and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist suppliers, logistics teams, and internal departments to resolve customs-related issues and facilitate timely deliveries
  • Perform periodic internal customs audits and participate in external customs audits as required
  • Ensure data entry tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner and all information is regularly updated in the system
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in international trade, logistics, freight or customs brokerage
  • Excellent command of Microsoft tools, especially Outlook and Excel
  • Experience using a business ERP system
  • Fluent speaker of the English language
  • French or another language an asset
  • Professional designation such as CCS or CTCS an asset but not required
