A career as a Private Banker within the Private Banking 1859 (PB1859) team at National Bank means acting as a trusted expert in financial planning, wealth management, and credit solutions for a high-net-worth clientele. This role requires strong relationship‑management skills, a proactive client approach, and a high level of rigor in applying the Bank’s processes and risk standards. National Bank offers a full range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and governments across Canada, as well as specialized services to a select international clientele.

Your role
  • Provide integrated wealth management solutions (investments, credit, and financial planning) to high‑net‑worth clients and their families.
  • Rigorously assess client needs and develop structured, sustainable, and profitable financial strategies in compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a distinctive, personalized client experience aligned with the value proposition and service standards of Private Banking 1859.
  • Build and maintain long‑term, trusted relationships with clients while working closely with internal partners.
  • Structure and negotiate credit solutions, manage the portfolios under your responsibility, and strictly apply the Bank’s risk‑management standards.
  • Contribute to the Bank’s profitable growth by leveraging appropriate expertise and identifying opportunities aligned with clients’ objectives.
Your team

Within the Commercial Banking and Private Banking 1859 sector, you will report to the Senior Director, Private Banking 1859, and join the broader team covering Laval, Lanaudière, the Laurentians, Northwestern Québec, and Eastern Ontario. Our team is recognized for its strong sector expertise, collaborative mindset, and in‑depth market knowledge.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Financial Planner (Pl. Fin.) designation is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of financing and banking products and services, in both personal and commercial banking.
  • Proven experience in client service, sales, business development, and negotiation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Client‑focused, proactive, agile, approachable, and accountable.
  • Demonstrated leadership, autonomy, perseverance, and strong teamwork skills.
