The Capital Markets Institutional Trading Support & Client Onboarding team provides institutional clients with the highest quality of service and supports multiple trading desks and groups including Institutional Equities, Options, ETF Market Making, Electronic Trading & Program Trading, Financial Products, Equity Capital Markets and Risk Management Solutions.

As a primary contact for Institutional clients you will work closely with Traders to manage Client Onboarding & KYC / Due Diligence updates, client inquiries, manage account collateral, cash management, margin, security borrowing and lending, trade clearing & settlements, and client reporting, while ensuring the bank is minimized of any risk.

You will share financial market expertise to provide information & recommendations regarding specific products and services like account types, (Cash, COD / DVP, Margin, Options, DMA), electronic trading, client reporting and online access.

Your Job
  • Work closely with Traders, Sales, Business Heads, Business Management, and Technology Support teams in various sectors within Capital Markets such as Institutional Equities, Options, ETF Market Making, Electronic Trading & Program Trading, Financial Products, Equity Capital Markets, and Risk Management Solutions.
  • Provide excellent client service and share capital markets expertise with large Institutional and alternative asset management clients.
  • Possess a solid understanding of risk management processes, investment strategies and investment products.
  • Comprehend complex asset management strategies and understand the impacts to client portfolios with respect to cash / margin, collateral, corporate actions and manage overall bank risk in real time.
  • Coordinate client day-to-day activities with internal partners including Trading Desks, Securities Lending, Fixed Income, Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, Cash Management, Foreign Exchange, Operational Risk, Accounting and Tax.
  • Manage risk through monitoring of Trader Inventories and positions and ensure accurate reporting for PnL.
  • Manage the segregation and buy-in process with clients, operational control and securities lending group.
  • Manage Client Onboarding and Trading Platform connectivity for Institutional Cash on Delivery, Cash Custody, Margin, Options, NCIB (Normal Course Issuer Bid), and At-The-Market clients and manage the KYC refresher process on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead client meetings, identify existing and potential client issues, and provide efficient solutions to clients.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and manage clear, concise internal and external communications.
  • Lead projects (such as regulatory updates, T+1, KYC for Compliance), strategic initiatives and business development growth.
  • Review processes and procedures, propose & implement improvements such as automation solutions, and ensure documentation for business continuity.
  • Foster strong cross‑functional relationships with business partners for cohesive operational flow that maximizes efficiency and champions interdepartmental process improvements.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.
Basic Requirements
  • Completed University Undergraduate Degree and three years of relevant experience in a related field required.
  • Good knowledge of Capital Markets, currently pursuing or completed CFA designation or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in client service and brokerage services an asset.
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conducts and Practices Handbook (CPH), and licensing with CIRO within 6 months required; completion of Options Licensing Course (OLC) and a licensing with FINRA within a year.
  • Excellent interpersonal, client service, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of a client’s organization.
