Team Lead, Actuarial, Operational Performance Analytics
This position is for an Actuarial Team Lead who will report to a manager and oversee a small team of 1–3 actuarial analysts, providing both technical guidance and project leadership.
Responsibilities- Contribute to executing key actuarial objectives by actively participating in hands‑on work, providing technical advice to team members, ensuring the quality of their work, and formulating recommendations to improve product and service performance.
- Lead the evaluation, development, and coaching of team members to achieve the company’s strategic objectives, creating an engaged and high‑performing workforce.
- Manage the team’s activities by organizing, planning, and controlling the optimal use of human, financial, and material resources in alignment with company strategies and budget planning.
- Represent the actuarial function in various working groups and committees and act as a point of contact with other business units.
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Job‑specific designation in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, FCAS, or FCIA is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience, including at least 1 year of coaching experience.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to develop a strategic vision, facilitate change, and make strategic decisions.
- Strong planning, organization, delegation, and development of others.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism in English and French is required.
