Human Resources Generalist
We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to manage all HR activities for our organization. This is a stand‑alone HR role , responsible for the full employee lifecycle, payroll, compliance, and daily HR operations. The position works closely with the General Manager and Vice President .
This role is hands‑on and requires independence, good judgment, and the ability to support both employees and management in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
Manage bi‑weekly payroll for all employees using Ceridian (Dayforce & Powerpay)
Administer group insurance and employee benefits
Handle year‑end payroll requirements (T4, RL‑1, CNESST, Revenu Québec, employer reports)
Maintain accurate employee records and HR data
Ensure compliance with Quebec labour laws and regulations
Stay up to date on legislative changes and recommend improvements
Health & Safety
Coordinate Health & Safety activities and support the H&S Committee
Manage CNESST claims, accident reports, and follow‑ups
Maintain Health & Safety records and required documentation
Recruitment & Onboarding
Work with managers to define hiring needs and job profiles
Post job openings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews
Prepare employment offers and contracts
Coordinate onboarding and support new employee integration
Employee Relations & Performance
Act as the main HR contact for employee questions
Support managers with performance management and documentation
Assist with disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations
Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters
Communicate HR policies and internal updates
Create and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
Coordinate training and ensure compliance with the 1% Training Law
Support performance evaluation processes
Track HR metrics and prepare basic HR reports
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role
Experience in Payroll
Experience recruiting for warehouse positions
Good knowledge of Quebec labour laws, CNESST, and payroll compliance
Fully bilingual in French and English
Organized, discreet, and able to work independently
Comfortable working closely with senior leadership
