Location Nature of the workThe Manager - Human Resources and Administration
, provides leadership for all human resources, administration and corporate operations functions of the Centre. The role is responsible for the full HR lifecycle, governance support, facilities and operational oversight while ensuring legislative compliance, effective organisational systems and continuous improvement. The Manager supervises the Coordinator, Volunteers & Community Engagement.
Human Resources:
- Lead recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, performance management, succession planning and employee development.
- Maintain all confidential HR records, employment contracts, HRIS, benefits administration and payroll change documentation.
- Develop HR policies, procedures, templates and employee resources.
- Coordinate workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and labour relations matters, engaging third-party expertise as required.
- Provide HR advice and coaching to managers.
- Lead HR reporting, engagement initiatives and compensation projects.
Administration:
- Provide administrative and governance support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Coordinate all Board-related activities, including meeting scheduling, agenda and package preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up on action items.
- Lead the planning and coordination of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and support the preparation and publication of the Annual Report.
- Compile, analyze, and prepare reports, data, and other documentation for the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and organisational leadership.
- Oversee administrative systems and develop administrative policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight of facilities, procurement, contracts, vendors, technology, security and office operations.
- Maintain rental agreements and organisational records.
- Lead the Health and Safety Committee and ensure legislative compliance.
- Supervise the Coordinator, Volunteers & Community Engagement.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to Centre-wide initiatives and committees to enhance operations.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing human resources support in a leadership or advisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment legislation, and workplace policies.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a multi-service environment.
- Experience in a not-for-profit or community-based organization is an asset.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and staff engagement initiatives.
- Ability to provide guidance and support to managers and employees on workplace matters.
- Experience supporting workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and organisational change initiatives.
- Knowledge of Ontario employment standards and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Experience developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and administrative systems.
- Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office, and other workplace technology systems.
