Operations Manager
Summary
Reporting to the Vice‑President of Program and Engineering, the Program Manager plans, organizes and directs company and supplier resources to ensure all assigned program cost and schedule milestones are met. Responsibilities include management of schedules, design oversight, cost/benefit analysis, and involvement in development, test, certification, customer service, quality, reliability, and entry‑into‑service. The Program Manager manages multiple projects simultaneously for different customers, leads teams effectively under tight deadlines, and makes decisions that directly impact the company’s financial performance.
Responsibilities- Maintain and nurture relationships with customers.
- Maintain action tracking registers.
- Identify and manage program risks (technical, resource, financial, or other).
- Develop program management plans for each project.
- Ensure programs are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversee program configuration control activities and product specifications.
- Support the supplier selection process during development.
- Oversee suppliers of critical components and systems for production; direct QA and manufacturing teams as needed.
- Support and coordinate the preparation of statements of work, proposals, cost estimates, and negotiation of contract terms with customers and suppliers.
- Chair customer meetings (SRR, PDR, CDR, PRR) and coordinate other internal meetings required to achieve program objectives.
- Establish resource plans, identify gaps, and support resource staffing.
- Coordinate project personnel activities to ensure progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Coordinate implementation of engineering changes to existing production.
- Engage regularly with company and supplier senior management as well as functional department management and staff.
- Perform risk analysis and mitigate risks.
- B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical disciplines.
- Between 5 to 8 years of experience.
- MBA and/or PMP qualification is ideal.
- Experience managing programs that span multiple phases from engineering development to manufacturing (typically 6 to 18 months long).
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project preferred.
- Detailed understanding of Program/Project Management processes and procedures.
