Minimum Requirements
* Valid California Multiple Subject teaching credential with English Language Learner Authorization (i.e. CLAD, BCLAD, ELA1, etc.)
* Bilingual and Biliterate in Spanish and English
* TK Requirement:

- At least 24 units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or both OR - At least one year of full-time service teaching 3-4-year-old children. Service may be any combination of experience in preschool programs, Transitional Kindergarten, Student Teachers and Teacher Residents in preschool-aged classrooms, or Kindergarten classrooms serving preschool-aged students with preschool-aged students enrolled. Teachers may be qualified by a combination of classroom experience as described above and Early Childhood Education Units, as determined by LESD.

Note:

Per California Department of Education requirements, credentialed teachers first assigned to a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom after July 1, 2015 must meet one of the listed TK qualification requirements by August 1, 2025. Teachers who were assigned to teach TK or a combination of Kindergarten and TK on or before July 1, 2015 are exempt from the additional TK unit requirements.
