An Intervention Specialist assists site administration with the coordination of intervention programs and the implementation of 1:1 monitoring and data chats with students, focusing on the improvement of student attendance, academics, and behavior while also assisting students in adhering to their college/career plans. This TOSA position is subject to District operational needs. The District may adjust assignments during the school year, including reassignment to a classroom teaching position.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATION(S)
- Possess a valid Clear California Teaching Credential
- Three years full-time teaching experience within CVUHSD
- Permanent status
- Experience teaching for at least 4 years at the secondary level
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Experience communicating effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Classroom management expertise
- Trained, or willing to be trained, in and implement District led initiatives, strategies, and supports.
- Master's Degree in education or a related field
- CA Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility
- Experience with Power School searches and reports
- Experience with coordinating and evaluating programs or academies
- Experience with academic, attendance, and behavior intervention
- Experience with community outreach
- Experience with Restorative Practices
- Experience with IEPs, BIPs, SSTs, and 504s
- Knowledge of CA Education Code regarding discipline and attendance
- Spanish Fluency

Core Duties- Assist Site Administration with the following:
- Collaborating with CTE Student Support Specialists to plan and implement school-wide student expectations assemblies
- Conducting student expectations assemblies (including programmatic and pathway-specific expectations)
- Analyzing student attendance, academics, and behavior data
- Identifying students in need of interventions
- Recommending students for appropriate interventions
- Monitoring students assigned to intervention programs
- Supporting teachers in developing and implementing classroom-based interventions
- Conducting restorative and community-building circles
- Engaging in a cycle of analysis and intervention for students within an identified range of achievement by:
- Developing a list of target students based on identified metrics (academics - grades, PSAT, Interim Assessments,etc., attendance, and progress towards graduation)
- Conducting 1:1 mobile student data chats utilizing the district's forms and procedures
