A Proctor is a part‑time staff position within KHSU‑Kansas

COM. Proctors provide secure exam delivery in a comfortable and friendly environment. KHSU‑Kansas

COM proctored exams are computer‑based.

Responsibilities
  • Comply and enforce all testing procedures, practices and policies.
  • Ensure respect for student information and student confidentiality through FERPA compliance.
  • Resolve testing issues that may arise during exams.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with test center operations as requested.
  • Minimal housekeeping duties such as sanitizing earmuffs, cleaning white boards, etc.
  • Walk or stand in your assigned area to observe students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Prior proctoring experience preferred but not required.
Key Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to maintain calm demeanor when testing issues arise.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Customer‑service oriented; including the ability to balance customer service with enforcement of testing security.
  • Position requires standing or walking for extended periods of time.
Scheduling and Compensation

Hired proctors typically receive 2–10 hours every other week, depending on availability and need. In general, applicants should be available to proctor at least two days per month.
