Bodyshop Detailer/Porter
The Bodyshop automotive detailer is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and restoring vehicles cleanliness after repair completion. This role involves both interior and exterior detailing, including washing, polishing, vacuuming, and deep cleaning. The automotive detailer must have a keen eye for detail, a strong, work ethic, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
Responsibilities Exterior Detailing- Wash and dry the vehicle’s exterior using various cleaning agents.
- Clean and polish wheels, tires, and chrome components.
- Remove tar, bugs, buffing compound, over-spray, and other contaminants from the vehicles surface and jams.
- Vacuum carpets, seats, and upholstery.
- Clean leather, vinyl, and plastic surfaces.
- Remove dust from body repairs, stains, pet hair, and odors from the interior.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
- Dust and clean dashboard, console, door trim panels, and other interior components.
- Inspect vehicles after detailing to ensure all work meets quality standards.
- Address any missed spots or areas needing additional attention.
- Perform final touch-ups and ensure that vehicles are ready for customer delivery.
- When there are no pre or post repair vehicles to detail and inspect, additional duties including shop cleanliness are expected and not limited to:
- Sweeping shop floors.
- Taking out trash, scrap metal/damaged parts, and cardboard boxes.
- Cleanliness of customer lobby.
- Maintain and organize all detailing tools and equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning agents and supplies are properly stored and stocked.
- Report and equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding the use of cleaning agents and disposal of hazardous waste.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning agents and outdoor elements.
- Primarily in an automotive shop environment.
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, and fumes from cleaning agents and vehicles.
- Quality and thoroughness of vehicle detailing.
- Efficiency in completing detailing tasks within allotted time frames.
- Customer satisfaction and feedback.
- Adherence to safety protocols and compliance with regulations.
