* Provides input and feedback with Trade Partner selection.
* Develops Site Specific Safety and QA/QC Action Plans prior to mobilization.
* Establishes comprehensive site logistics and phasing plans.
* Reviews and understands Trade Partner scopes of work and owner contract prior to bid being finalized.
* Reviews and provides feedback to ensure budget is set up correctly for General Conditions and General Requirements.
* Provides feedback and management plans top precon and project management for critical operational activities.
* Develops Self Perform work plans.
* Co-develops and provides feedback to ensure overall project schedule is complete and accurate.
* Coordinates and schedules multiple Trades on large scale projects or is the sole Superintendent for medium size projects.
* Leads and provides input regarding most critical activities over the next several months.
* Leads and implements a schedule recovery plan if a delay(s) occurs and need to recover lost time.
* Leads and provides a look ahead and work through sequencing, phasing, adjustment of plans as needed.
* Provides input when updating master and look ahead schedule, ensure documentation of any delays are in the schedule.
* Understands of the projects' critical and near critical path.
* Provides appropriate level of detail for the look-ahead and master schedule weekly update meetings.
* Effectively communicates schedule to project stakeholders.
* Effectively works in MS Project.
* Develops and implements site specific safety plan with assistance from Sr. Project Staff and Safety Department.
* Ensures weekly site safety walk-throughs are being conducted, documented, and corrective actions are resolved.
* Coaches less experienced field staff in what to look out for, i.e. (trenches, rigging, etc.)
* Leads by example to ensure Safety is the highest priority on the Project.
* Ensures ORM's are being filled out and documented daily.
* Ensures safety orientation is being conducted for every worker onsite and is documented.
* Ensures all Trade Partner safety requirements are in place prior to mobilizing onsite.
* Ensures a review of hazardous building material survey(s) has been conducted.
* Leads potential high-risk activities and helps with preliminary planning for each.
* Develops production rate goals for team to ensure work is being performed within budget and/or unit requirements.
* Leads development of project staff and overall field craft needs.
* Provides feedback, encourages and recognize team member for work completed on time and with high quality.
* Leads efforts with ensuring Self-Perform is receiving adequate notice for any manpower request.
* Develops recovery plan if needed to get back on track.
* Ensures proper tools are onsite as needed for Self-Perform needs.
* Leads schedule, coordination, and unit tracking of field craft and self-perform tasks.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry
* Basic knowledge of personal computer and e-mail applications.
* Proven ability to accurately schedule construction activities or projects.
* Demonstrated success in effectively managing safety on projects.
* Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, trade partners, or associates.
* Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
* Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
* While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel.
* The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
