Position Overview

The Lied Center of Kansas serves the state’s flagship university, students and the greater community by functioning as a catalyst for the arts, creativity, engagement and community building.

Job Responsibilities

As a non‑student supplemental stage crew member, you will assist with the set‑up, running and tear‑down of Lied Center events, including:

Assist with set‑up, running and tear‑down of events
Hang and focus lights, change lamps, repair cables, and run lighting consoles
Move curtains, load and unload counterweight arbors, and set‑up/strike acoustical shells and large music ensembles
Set up and run audio systems
Set up and run cameras
Run video projections
Lay dance floor
Sweep, mop, launder & press costumes
Clean up production areas as needed
Help repair, maintain and support all equipment under the supervision of full‑time technical staff

Position Requirements

This position requires flexibility to work around performance schedules.

This position requires working on‑site.

Perform physical tasks associated with this occupational group with or without accommodation.

Required Qualifications

Experience in production or theatre experience (wardrobe, lighting, audio, video, and/or fly systems) obtained through coursework, volunteer, or paid work experience, as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience in technical theatre, as evidenced in application materials.
Familiarity with multiple technical theatre systems (fly rail, audio, video, lighting, rough carpentry), as evidenced in application materials.
Wardrobe experience, as evidenced in application materials.
