Position Overview

The Lied Center of Kansas serves the state’s flagship university, students and the greater community by functioning as a catalyst for the arts, creativity, engagement and community building.

Job Responsibilities

As a non‑student supplemental stage crew member, you will assist with the set‑up, running and tear‑down of Lied Center events, including:

  • Assist with set‑up, running and tear‑down of events
  • Hang and focus lights, change lamps, repair cables, and run lighting consoles
  • Move curtains, load and unload counterweight arbors, and set‑up/strike acoustical shells and large music ensembles
  • Set up and run audio systems
  • Set up and run cameras
  • Run video projections
  • Lay dance floor
  • Sweep, mop, launder & press costumes
  • Clean up production areas as needed
  • Help repair, maintain and support all equipment under the supervision of full‑time technical staff
Position Requirements
  • This position requires flexibility to work around performance schedules.
  • This position requires working on‑site.
  • Perform physical tasks associated with this occupational group with or without accommodation.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Experience in production or theatre experience (wardrobe, lighting, audio, video, and/or fly systems) obtained through coursework, volunteer, or paid work experience, as evidenced in application materials.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Supervisory experience in technical theatre, as evidenced in application materials.
    • Familiarity with multiple technical theatre systems (fly rail, audio, video, lighting, rough carpentry), as evidenced in application materials.
    • Wardrobe experience, as evidenced in application materials.
