Position: Asst/Assoc/Full Professor of the Practice-Information Technology

Position Overview

The Information Technology Open Rank Professor of the Practice position is an administrative and non‑tenure‑track teaching role. The appointment is a 12‑month Fiscal Year, with an initial term of three years and a typical course load of eight classes per year. Subsequent appointments may be offered based on performance and approval of the Dean of the School of Professional Studies.

Responsibilities

Teaching – 80%

  • Teach eight courses per year in the Information Technology Programs, including curriculum development, instructional design, virtual classroom management, assessment design, and grading.
  • Keep curricula up‑to‑date and engage with external organizations to ensure relevance to workplace needs.

Service – 20%

  • Promote and enhance the programs, advance curricular quality, and engage in scholarly and pedagogical development.
  • Mentor students and collaborate with faculty and staff on promotional activities.
  • Stay current on industry developments and academic best practices.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent in a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated record of teaching excellence in Information Technology or a closely related field.
  • Years of related experience in Information Technology for each rank:
    • Assistant Professor of the Practice: 3‑5 years
    • Associate Professor of the Practice: 5‑15 years
    • Professor of the Practice: 15+ years
  • Excellence in written communication skills as demonstrated in application materials.
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience as demonstrated in application materials.
