Educational Consultant – Per Diem (Wichita, Kansas)
Location:
Wichita, Kansas. Candidates must currently live in or be open to relocating to Wichita, Kansas. Own transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
Hours:
Per‑Diem consultants are scheduled on an as‑needed basis, paid hourly. The schedule peaks from August–October and January–March. Professional development usually occurs during normal school hours.
Compensation: $30‑$65 per hour, depending on the type of work assigned. Travel up to 80% is required and reimbursement for mileage, hotel, and phone expenses is provided.
Responsibilities- Become an expert on i‑Ready and other core and supplemental programs focused on grades K‑8.
- Serve teachers by coordinating on‑site product training and professional development courses for teachers and school administrators.
- Adjust professional development workshops within specified parameters to fit participants’ needs.
- Help ensure equity in the classroom by delivering courses on how to implement Ready and i‑Ready to impact learning.
- Meet teachers where they are and provide tailored on‑site support, from lesson planning and pacing to data analysis and instructional application.
- Engage in the internal cycle of professional improvement and development, including observation, feedback, and coaching.
- Track and submit detailed training notes and complete all assignments promptly.
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and prospects.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+ years of experience in teaching, coaching, and providing professional development.
- Experience teaching at the secondary (6‑12) level is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards for grades K‑8, including content and practice standards.
- Fluency with digital tools and online assessments, and comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and how to apply them to professional development.
- Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Exceptional time‑management and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and online meeting platforms (Zoom, Web Ex) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
- Bilingual is preferred.
