Job Description
Teaching - 80%
Teaching eight courses per year in the IT Programs in the School of Professional Studies, as described above. Teaching responsibilities include curriculum development, instructional design, virtual classroom management, and grading and teaching improvement. Faculty are responsible for keeping curricula up-to-date and engaging with external organizations to ensure relevance to a variety of workplace needs. Provide adequate means to evaluate student performance, including examinations and assignments (such as papers, projects, presentations, etc.)
and grading.
Service - 20%
Professional service includes actively engaging in promoting the programs; enhancing and improving its curriculum; engaging in scholarly, pedagogical, and professional development activities; mentoring students; and collaborating with faculty and staff at the KUEC in promotional activities. Stays current on IT industry developments and academic best practices.

* Demonstrated record of teaching excellence in Information Technology or a closely related field
* Years of related experience in Information Technology for each rank:
* Assistant Professor of the Practice: 3-5 years
* Associate Professor of the Practice 5-15 years
* Professor of the Practice: 15+ years
* Excellence in written communication skills as demonstrated in application materials
* Three (3) years of leadership experience as demonstrated in application materials

Position Overview
The Information Technology Open Rank Professor of the Practice position is both an Administrative and non-tenure-track Teaching position. This faculty position is expected to teach in the undergraduate programs in Information Technology (IT) and Applied Cybersecurity, the Bachelor of Professional Studies concentration in Applied Data Analytics, the Master's program in Information Technology, and the associated graduate certificate programs at the Edwards Campus (IT Programs).
The candidate will be expected to teach in various formats, such as in-person, hybrid, and online.
The appointment is a Fiscal Year (12-month) appointment with an initial term of 3 years, with a typical course load of eight classes each year. Subsequent appointments may be offered, contingent upon a satisfactory comprehensive performance evaluation during the final year of this appointment and approval of the Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
