FTE: 1.0
HOURS/DAY: 8 hours
DAYS PER YEAR: 188 (new teachers) / 186 (returning teachers)
SCHOOL YEAR: 2026-27
Qualifications- Kansas Teaching Certificate/License
- 'Highly qualified' status according to KSDE and federal regulations
- SPED and/or ESL endorsement preferred
- Other acceptable alternatives as determined by the Board
- Build instruction upon previously learned materials.
- Use a variety of teaching materials and techniques appropriate for content area and all students.
- Provide regular assessment of student/adult needs and progress.
- Provide appropriate re‑teaching, adaptation, and/or extensions as needed.
- Provide evidence of individual student/adult learning.
- Prepare for assigned classes and show evidence of preparation.
- Demonstrate effective skills in reading, writing, math, and speaking as necessary.
- Demonstrate command of the subject matter for which teaching or coordinating.
- Implement the district's written curriculum and the state and district assessment program.
- Commit to learning and applying new instructional and technology skills.
- Collaborate with staff in planning curriculum, instructional goals, objectives, methods, and assessments.
- Attend and participate in assigned staff/team meetings.
- Cooperate with others regarding selection, use, and sharing of instructional materials.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establish and maintain communication with students, parents, colleagues, and others.
- Take necessary precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Demonstrate respect and value for all students and staff.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards.
- Meet and instruct students/adults at designated locations and times.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Maintain state certification/licensure standards for teachers in the field assigned.
- Maintain licensure (certification) in Kansas.
- Speak clearly and audibly to various groups, expressing ideas logically.
- Use composition skills suitable for written communication.
- Analyze situations quickly and provide prompt advice.
- Respond to information requests courteously, timely, and helpfully.
- Use appropriate software on district computer systems and communication equipment.
- Manage job responsibilities and meet established deadlines.
- Work constructively and cooperatively with others.
